Restructuring Rift Valley Railways Rail-way organization in Kenya and Uganda

Need:

Rift Valley Railways operates in Kenia and Uganda. The German, French and Dutch Developments Banks are major shareholders in order to make infrastructural development possible in these two countries. The Banks asked for compliance to International standards concerning retrenchment (IFC PS2). PiCompany SA was asked to do the benchmark and write the implementation plan. 

Successful retrenchment takes into account the involvement of executive management,  human resources , finance, unions, works council, lower level management and staff. In line with international best practice (IFC PS2), the bench mark consisted of a preparation phase, field and desk research and a report with recommendations. 

Process

Our consultant collected information and documents from the organization and managed to compile a report within a very short period of time.

The development banks were very satisfied with the results and asked PiCompany to assist with the implementation.
